Blinkit to deliver food in 10 min via Bistro

Blinkit, owned by Zomato, is introducing a new 10-minute food delivery service called Bistro, expanding its focus beyond groceries. This move marks Blinkit’s entry into the instant food delivery market, even though Zomato had previously tried and discontinued a similar service called Instant.

Blinkit has introduced Bistro as a standalone app, though the specific areas it currently serves remain unclear.

The quick-commerce industry is becoming increasingly competitive, with platforms racing to capture different segments like groceries, apparel, medicines, and now food. Swiggy recently launched Bolt, its quick food delivery service, while Zepto is developing a separate app for its Café service.

Last month, Bengaluru-based 10-minute food-delivery startup Swish raised $2 million in its maiden funding round led by venture capital firm Accel.

Blinkit’s decision to enter rapid food delivery is a key step in Zomato’s efforts to strengthen its position in the growing quick-commerce market. As the segment continues to attract both consumer demand and investor attention, companies are focusing on faster delivery times and expanding their offerings to stay ahead of the competition.
