Raspberry AI, a tech startup transforming the fashion industry through its text-to-image platform, has raised $24 million in Series A funding. Led by Andreessen Horowitz with participation from Greycroft, Correlation Ventures, and MVP Ventures, this round follows a $4.5 million seed round completed 10 months earlier.

Founded just two years ago by Cheryl Liu, Raspberry AI enables designers to create, visualize, and iterate designs with unprecedented speed. Leveraging generative AI, the platform allows fashion professionals to transform sketches into lifelike images, previewing multiple design variations in materials and prints without needing physical samples.

“No company would order 50 sample iterations for a single product, but now they can visualize 50 variations instantly,” explained Cheryl Liu, who transitioned from a career at Amazon and DoorDash to pioneer this technology. Inspired by advancements in generative AI tools like DALL-E, she saw an opportunity to streamline the fashion design process.

Raspberry AI’s platform is rapidly gaining traction among designers and manufacturers. The tool is particularly appealing because of its industry-specific intelligence, outperforming competitors like Midjourney and Adobe Firefly in accurately interpreting fashion terminology. For example, the platform provides precise design outputs for requests like “fuzzy sweater,” enhancing its appeal to professional designers.

Andreessen Horowitz partner Bryan Kim expressed confidence in Raspberry AI’s potential to revolutionize the fashion manufacturing process. “Cheryl’s vision and expertise stood out as transformative. Raspberry’s ability to accelerate and improve design workflows is exactly what the industry needs.”

The global fashion landscape, dominated by fast-fashion brands like Shein, H&M, and Zara, is increasingly reliant on technologies to meet the demand for rapid style iteration. Raspberry AI’s solution is well-positioned to address this need, empowering designers to visualize concepts faster and reducing the time from ideation to production.

With the new funding, Raspberry plans to expand its engineering, sales, and marketing teams while extending its generative AI capabilities into new industries, including home, furniture, and cosmetics design.

“At Raspberry, our mission is to empower creators to design faster and smarter,” said Cheryl Liu. “Generative AI is unlocking new possibilities in how we think about product development, and this is just the beginning.”
