Tandem raises $3.8M

Tandem, a Paris-based startup building in-app AI agents to streamline user workflows, has raised $3.8 million in seed funding. The round was led by Tribe Capital, with participation from Hexa, the startup studio behind well-known ventures like Front, Spendesk, and Aircall.

The company aims to solve a growing problem in modern software: complexity. As digital products become more feature-rich, users often struggle to find and use advanced functions. Tandem’s solution is a persistent “Do it with AI” button embedded directly into apps, allowing users to delegate tasks like form-filling, setup, configuration, and more.

With support costs consuming 5–8% of revenue and 64% of users never activating, Tandem offers a way to reduce friction and boost retention by stepping in when users hit roadblocks. Instead of learning how to use a product, users can simply get things done—powered by AI that understands both the product and the user context.

CEO and co-founder Christophe Barre explained that Tandem was created to close the gap between powerful features and poor user adoption. The goal: remove the need for lengthy explanations and let users delegate tasks instantly, improving outcomes and satisfaction.

Already deployed by companies like Qonto, Aircall, Kraken, and Sellsy, Tandem is showing measurable improvements in user activation rates and reductions in support tickets. Product leaders have called the experience “magical,” crediting the tool with unlocking value for users who would otherwise abandon or underutilize the product.

From real-time automation of repetitive tasks to guided onboarding and contextual prompts, Tandem transforms the user journey into a seamless experience. It operates as an intelligent assistant embedded inside the software, offering direct, actionable help where users need it most.

With this funding, Tandem plans to expand internationally and will open a U.S. headquarters in San Francisco, signaling its global ambitions beyond its Paris roots.
