Burma Burma, a pan-India Burmese restaurant brand under Hunger Pangs Pvt Ltd, has successfully raised ₹25.46 crore ($3 million) in its latest equity funding round. The funding, led by Negen Capital with participation from NV Alpha Fund Management and a group of high-net-worth individuals (HNIs), will fuel the brand’s ambitious expansion and growth plans.

With the fresh capital, Burma Burma is set to double its restaurant footprint over the next 15 months, aiming for 24 locations by FY26. Currently, the brand operates 12 outlets in major cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. “This funding will be a catalyst in bringing our vision to life. We are targeting ₹300 crore in revenue within the next two years and plan to be IPO-ready by 2027,” said Chirag Chhajer, Co-founder of Burma Burma.

The restaurant chain has shown remarkable growth, achieving ₹10.5 crore in revenue in December 2024, with an annualized run rate (ARR) surpassing ₹125 crore. Its December results highlighted strong financial health, with an operating profit of over 28% at the outlet level and a 19% EBITDA margin. In FY24, the company reported ₹74 crore in revenue and is projected to reach ₹111 crore in FY25, reflecting a robust 50% growth rate.

“We are building a brand that will lead the way for novel cuisine concepts in India and beyond. While Burmese cuisine is our foundation, we are excited about expanding our culinary portfolio through new projects,” said Ankit Gupta, Co-founder of Burma Burma.

Burma Burma’s unique approach to bringing authentic Burmese cuisine to India has positioned it as a leader in the culinary space. The company aims to capitalize on its strong performance and loyal customer base to drive future growth.

The funding transaction was facilitated by investment bankers Sarthak Ahuja and Aditi Randev of Niamh Ventures, along with BV Raman of Negen Wealth.

This new funding round underscores the confidence of investors in Burma Burma’s vision and its ability to scale its operations, setting a strong foundation for further innovation and expansion in the restaurant industry.
