Constructiontech FixForm raises €1.5M – Tech.eu

FixForm, a collaborative platform for building management and maintenance, has raised €1.5 million from a select group of Belgian investors. The funding will allow the founders to expand their solution and venture into new markets.

FixForm allows occupants to act as “sensors” by reporting issues directly. Through a location-based QR code or a user-friendly website, anyone can report a problem in less than 10 seconds—without needing to download an app or log in. The system, enhanced with AI, forwards the report to the appropriate person in charge. This eliminates the need for manual ticket creation, significantly reducing the chance of errors.

For example, when a lightbulb goes out in a nursing home, a family member can easily scan the QR code in the room, take a photo, and submit a brief description. The relevant contact receives the information instantly. Once the issue is resolved, the family member automatically receives confirmation. In this way, FixForm creates transparency and shared ownership.

Thomas Vanhumbeeck, CEO of FixForm, explained: “Nearly half of all building issues never reach the building managers. People often don’t know who to contact, or the report gets lost. This leads to frustration on both sides. FixForm bridges this gap by improving collaboration between facility managers and end users. With FixForm, building managers gain a clear, prioritized view of defects, enabling them to manage and maintain their facilities more efficiently.”

Since its founding in 2021, the Ghent-based startup has addressed more than 100,000 building defects. FixForm now has a team of 11 employees and operates in five countries, including the UK, Ireland, and the Czech Republic. Their clients include nursing home groups Armonea and Careion, investment firm Buysse & Partners, real estate company Quares, AZ Maria Middelares hospital, sports stadiums like those of KAA Gent and Club Brugge, and several cities and municipalities.

Jan Abeel, co-founder of FixForm, added: “With this funding, we aim to accelerate our international expansion, with active go-to-market campaigns planned for the Netherlands, the UK, and the Nordics. We’re also focused on enhancing our platform by leveraging the data we collect. For example, we plan to calculate ESG, health, or building compliance scores using AI, helping us better detect risks for our customers and positioning FixForm as a comprehensive platform for building management and maintenance worldwide.”

StarApps is a venture builder that transforms innovative ideas into successful scale-ups based in Ghent. The studio was founded by the entrepreneurs behind companies such as Netlog, Twoo, Delta, Realo, Rydoo, and Pitchdrive. Of the ten planned ventures, four have already been launched: FixForm (a platform for building management), Introw (a collaboration platform for sales), Bizzy (a B2B prospecting platform), and Donna (an AI assistant for sales).
