Danish software company Ziik has acquired whistleblower solution Walor.io.
Founded in 2015, Per Rohrdanz, Søren Iversen, and Martin Simonsen, Ziik gained renewed focus in 2022 after investment from David Heinemeier Hansson,
Ziik aims to create a sustainable and profitable software company in Denmark – without venture capital. The company is profitable while investing heavily in product development, expansion into new markets, and building a strong team – areas that the acquisition of Walor.io will strategically strengthen.
Walor.io fulfills an EU-mandated directive requiring companies with more than 50 employees to have a whistleblower system.
Walor.io has become a significant player in the Nordic region with an agile and focused team. Founders Frederik Binow and Nikulás Óskarsson are continuing with Ziik and have already been integrated into the company at record speed.
Walor.io complements Ziik’s internal communication solutions, allowing customers to integrate their intranet and whistleblower system on a single platform – a demand Ziik has seen from many existing customers.
“The chance to further develop our product on a much larger platform is fantastic. We look forward to contributing – not only to Walor.io’s ongoing journey but also to creating value for Ziik’s customers,” say founders Frederik Binow and Nikulás Óskarsson.
With the acquisition completed, Ziik proudly welcomes Frederik Binow and Nikulás Óskarsson to the team. Walor.io will continue as an independent entity under the name “Walor by Ziik,” and the two solutions are already fully integrated. There is high demand for the combined solution, making it easy for companies to offer employees an accessible and user-friendly whistleblower system.
With Ziik’s resources and experience, Walor.io can continue its development and accelerate its growth into international markets.
