Defense tech startup Sharang Shakti raises pre-seed round

Defense robotics startup Sharang Shakti has secured Rs 5 crore in a pre-seed funding round co-led by AUM Ventures and Venture Highway along with participation from the JK Group’s Family office and other angel investors.

The proceeds will be used for product development and expanding the team, Sharang Shakti said in a press release.

Co-founded in 2023 by Karan Goyal, Chirag Singla, Jitendra Singh, Gaurav Kumar and Rishabh Choudhary, .Sharang Shakti is a security robotics company which focuses on innovating in airspace surveillance and airborne threat mitigation.  

The company is currently working on an anti-drone system designed to detect, track, and neutralize hostile drones, marking the first of several products in its development pipeline.

According to market research, the global Anduril industry is valued at $14 billion.

The Gurugram-based company aims to  focus on building a comprehensive technology stack which will enable the development of a wide range of robotic systems for defense applications and to build next-gen Lockheed Martin from India.

Earlier this month, Indusbridge Ventures , a defense technology-focused company, joined forces with US-based deep-tech venture builder FedTech to introduce the ‘I2A Launchpad’ program. The initiative aims to support Indian dual-use startups.
