Fashion Startup, Theater Gets Funding From Prath Ventures

Theater, a women’s fashion startup founded in 2021, has secured $1.5 Mn in Pre-Series A funding led by Prath Ventures.

The funds will be used to expand into quick commerce, increase offline presence, and improve design and production processes.

The investment highlights growing investor interest in India’s women’s fashion market, particularly in shoes and perfumes segments.

Fashion startup Theater has raised $1.5 Mn (INR 12.45 Cr) in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Prath Ventures, along with participation from a host of undisclosed existing angel investors.

The company plans to use the funds to boost growth through quick commerce, increase offline presence and enhance its design and production processes.

Founded in 2021 by Sarthak Aggarwal, Vikram Jain, Karan Jain, and Shruti Aggarwal, Theater offers women’s footwear, stockings, perfumes and bags.

“This funding empowers us to drive growth through new channels like quick commerce, expand our offline presence, and accelerate our design iteration and production processes,” said Sarthak Aggarwal.

“Theater is disrupting the Women lifestyle space with strong design aesthetics and impeccable product quality. Indian consumption story is at its inflection point and we believe there is a whitespace in categories such as women’s shoes and perfumes,” said Piyush Goenka, managing partner at Prath Ventures.
