Nykaa revenue grows 24.4% Y-o-Y to Rs 1,874 Cr in Q2 FY25

Omnichannel beauty platform Nykaa’s revenue from operations increased by 24.4% during the quarter ending September, while its profit also spiked 66.3% and breached into the double digit mark.

Nykaa’s revenue from operations rose to Rs 1,874.74 crore in Q2 FY25 from Rs 1,507 crore in Q2 FY24, its unaudited consolidated financial statements sourced from Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) show.

The Beauty segment remained Nykaa’s largest revenue source, accounting for 91% of the total operating revenue. This income grew by 24.56% year-on-year and stood at Rs 1,705.89 crore. The fashion segment also grew, albeit at a slower pace (21.68%), bringing in Rs 166.09 crore during this period. Additional income contributed Rs 5.3 crore which took its total income to Rs 1,880 crore in Q2 FY25.

Nykaa operates an omnichannel marketplace across beauty, wellness, and fashion. Its portfolio of private labels includes skincare brands like Dot & Key and Earth Rhythm, jewelry brand Pipa Bella, and apparel retailers such as Gajra Gang and Kica.

During Q1, the firm increased its stake in its subsidiary Dot & Key to 90% with an investment of Rs 265.3 crore.

The company’s total expenses for the quarter increased by 23.74% to Rs 1,858.93 crore, from Rs 1,502.33 crore in Q2 FY24. The major cost component was the cost of materials which rose by 22.9% to Rs 1,053.72 crore and accounted for 56.68% of the total expense. Employee benefits increased by 18.46% to Rs 161.49 crore, while depreciation grew by 16.46% to Rs 63.62 crore. Importantly, the firm incurred Rs 580.1 crore as other costs which were undisclosed.

Nykaa’s profit for the period reached Rs 12.97 crore which increased 66.28%year-on-year from Rs 7.8 crore in the same quarter last year.  Its ROCE and EBITDA margin stood at 2.88% and 5.8%, respectively. On a unit basis, Nykaa spent Re 0.99 to earn a rupee of operating revenue.

Nykaa competes with other major players like Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra and niche platforms in the beauty and fashion segments such as Purplle. At the end of today, its market cap stood at Rs 51,151 crore while the firm stock was trading at Rs 179.01 at the time of stock exchange closure.
