Renais, a premium UK gin brand co-founded by siblings Emma and Alex Watson, has successfully raised £4.95 million in funding to fuel its international growth. Since its debut in May 2023, the brand has expanded its footprint to 11 countries and secured distribution agreements in 22 additional markets.
This strategic investment will drive Renais’ continued growth in the US, following successful launches in California and New York. The brand also plans to enter key markets such as France, Spain, Dubai, and Canada this year. The funding will support new state-level distribution in the US alongside marketing campaigns aimed at showcasing Renais’ heritage and craftsmanship to a broader audience.
Alex Watson emphasized the brand’s focus on engaging its community and capturing the growing consumer trend of “drinking less, but better.” He stated, “This raise supports our mission to tell the story of heritage, craftsmanship, and provenance while catering to a rising preference for premiumization. Having industry veterans as investors will be invaluable in unlocking Renais’ full potential.”
Key investors include US private equity firm InvestBev and Jean-Sebastien Robicquet, a renowned master distiller and founding president of Maison Villevert. Brian Rosen, general partner at InvestBev, expressed his excitement about the partnership, saying, “Renais Gin’s quality and sustainability credentials align perfectly with our strategic investment focus. We’re confident that this funding and our industry expertise will help Renais become a globally recognized brand.”
Renais’ expansion reflects the growing demand for premium gin, with its offerings resonating with consumers seeking quality and sustainability. With this latest funding, the brand is poised to further establish itself as a leader in the global gin market, combining a rich heritage with innovative craftsmanship.
