Biryani By Kilo has raised $9 million (Rs 72 crore) in the recent Series C funding round, as per the reports. The investment was led by Alpha Wave Ventures, with participation from Vevek Ventures, DSP HMK Holdings, IvyCap Ventures, Incred Wealth, and Clear Bridge Ventures.
The regulatory filing of the company with the Registrar of Companies shows that the board at Biryani By Kilo has passed a special resolution to issue 18,086 Series C CCSP at an issue price of Rs 39,800 per share to raise this funding, as reported by Entrackr.
Biryani By Kilo is a foodtech and delivery startup that delivers freshly cooked biryanis online. It provides authentic-tasting biryanis like Hyderabadi and Lucknowi biryani prepared in individual earthen handis. It makes fresh biryani for every individual order, which is something different and not usually done by others.
As of now, the company has more than 100 outlets across India, including major cities like Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. The company’s co-founders are Kaushik Roy (CEO) and Vishal Jindal (co-CEO), and it is headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana, India.
